CECC Academic Staff Member Elections to Academic Board

Report of the Returning Officer on the election of two members of Academic Board by Members of the CECC Academic Staff Members 2024

The 2024 election of two members of Academic Board by members of the academic staff of the ANU College of Engineering, Computing and Cybernetics was held in accordance with the Academic Board Protocol 2021. 

Three candidates were nominated for election to Academic Board. All candidates and their nominators were checked against the academic staff roll for the comprising of eligible CECC academic staff members who held their appointment on payday 14 March 2024 and were paid a salary on that day. All nominations were in order. 

The candidates were Dr Sabrina Caldwell, Associate Professor Penny Kyburz and Professor Jochen Trumpf.

An electronic ballot was conducted using the University’s APOLLO system. By close of the Poll at 5pm on Friday 26 April 2024, 59 CECC academic staff had registered a vote. 

The scrutiny of the electronic count was conducted by the Returning Officer (Ms. Emma Murrell) via Zoom teleconference at 2pm on Monday 29 April 2024. Ms Leslie McDonald from the Corporate Governance and Risk Office, verified the results from the count. 

Following the count of preferences, I declare the following elected for a 2-year term commencing 2 May 2024: 

•  Associate Professor Penny Kyburz
•  Dr Sabrina Caldwell
