Sue Sharpe
Sue Sharpe is Senior Education Designer at the Centre for Learning and Teaching at ANU with a special interest in assessment, accessibility, and inclusion. Holding a Grad Cert in Tertiary Teaching, she has worked in higher education for almost 15 years in both professional and teaching-focused academic roles. Previously Head of Department in another institution, she has written and managed curriculum, chaired a Course Advisory Committee, regularly presented to College Council, and held Academic Board and Examiner’s Committee membership. Sue maintains current knowledge of policy, evidence, and developments in higher education, and has been involved in recent projects relating to artificial intelligence; student and educator wellbeing; inclusive education; student engagement and more.
As a proud NTEU member and through previous work as an occupational therapist, Sue recognises the importance of a person-centred approach, aiming to ensure that the needs and interests of professional and academic staff, and students are adequately represented. She is particularly aware of the responsibility to professional staff who often remain invisible behind the scenes. With her education and professional experience, varied perspectives and administrative knowledge, Sue is confident she can contribute effectively to the Board and a positive teaching and learning direction for ANU more broadly.
