I'm Niki Bruno, I graduated in 2013 with a Graduate Certificate in Australian Migration Law and Practice, I am a migration specialist with my own legal practice, The Australian Migration & Relocation Agency (TAMRAG).
Studying at ANU was a new experience for me, as I had not studied online before, but a valuable experience that did prepare me for my current career or work. However the biggest thing for me at the time was it helped take my focus away from health problems that I was having at the time and kept me positive and aiming for something more than worrying about my condition.
I worked hard and I now run my own practice which I'm extremely happy doing. Running businesses has always been in my blood and I am extremely happy taking this challenge especially because my previous background was not migration Law.
The online community was good and I missed it when the course finished. It was an addictive thing, because we were always logging in and talking to each other about issues, work etc., so it is just as much a community online as it would have been on campus.
I keep engaged with the university and my lecturers, I have on occasion attended and volunteered to speak at a few events and I am in contact with some of my lecturers as they are still in the migration business.
My advice to current students is to enjoy the whole experience! There is nothing like studying at a university. Studying at a university is part of life's journey.
