ANU Disability Research Network Showcase

Join us at the ANU Disability Research Network’s showcase event – From the Margins to the Centre: Promoting Disability Research and Inclusion at ANU.

The event will open with a keynote address from Nas Campanella, the ABC’s National Disability Affairs Reporter. A highly respected voice in the field, Nas will share insights into disability inclusion and advocacy, setting the stage for a day of engaging and thought-provoking discussions.

Following the keynote, the event will highlight diverse disability research and inclusion projects across ANU, with presentations and rountables from academic staff, professional staff and students on topics such as:

  • Disability in policy and politics
  • Disability and justice
  • Gendered dimensions of disability
  • Inclusive design
  • Neurodiversity
  • Cultural and historical perspectives on disability
  • Current challenges facing the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

You can register for the keynote address only (9:45am – 11am, includes morning tea afterwards) or for the full-day program (9:45am – 4:30pm, includes lunch). Catering (vegetarian and vegan) will be provided.

We are committed to making this event inclusive. Sign language interpretation will be available. The venue is wheelchair accessible with accessible parking nearby. In person attendees will have access to a dedicated quiet space with colouring books and pencils and are welcome to bring or suggest anything else for their comfort.
