Moving to the “COVID normal” stage of Canberra’s Recovery Plan is terrific news and a clear sign that, after a somewhat dynamic and confusing start to 2021, we are moving towards a new phase of the pandemic with hope for a brighter future.

A new family joins the ANU family

Pioneering artist and ANU alumna Patricia Piccinini has debuted the companion to her famous Skywhale.

Skywhalepapa had its first official showing in early February on the grounds of the Parliamentary Triangle in a sold-out event that attracted thousands of spectators.

When Josh Ophel speaks, he speaks with his whole body. Australian Sign Language (Auslan) was Josh's first language. He's the eldest of five, and he and his siblings are CODA: Children of Deaf Adults. Read more about Josh’s “way with words”.

ANU students are encouraged to sign-up for an experimental subject pool to receive invitations to participate in economic research projects. Students will be paid varying amounts based on their involvement. For more information, visit the sign-up page.

A trio of ANU linguists, in collaboration with the Winanga-Li Aboriginal and Family Centre, have developed a set of resources for students at ANU to support their learning of the Gamilaraay language and culture.
