Top honour for Indigenous ANU researcher
ANU researcher Sarah Bourke, a descendant of the Gidja people from the Kimberley region in WA and the Gamilaroi people on the border of New South Wales and Queensland, has won this year's Stanner Award. Sarah received the award from the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) for her thesis on the progress of a study to give Indigenous Australians a voice on their health and wellbeing.

ANU appoints new Head of Clinical Services at Kambri clinic

ANU has appointed Dr Belinda Doherty as the Head of Clinical Services at the Kambri GP clinic as part of its commitment to the continuity of high-quality healthcare services on campus.

While the National Health Co-Op (NHC) has gone into administration, the NHC GP clinic in Kambri has continued to operate and is open to anyone in the community. 

The Administrators are continuing to provide healthcare services at the clinic with the plan to hand over operations to ANU.

Security update from our Cyber Sense team
This is an important reminder to not to skip Apple’s latest iOS update. Last week Apple issued a critical and urgent patch to mitigate against an actively exploited vulnerability in MacOS devices running Big Sur (version 11 of the operating system). iOS is also at risk, and all iOS device users, including those using personal devices to connect to the ANU network, should ensure they install iOS 14.8 immediately. 
Users on ANU-managed devices will automatically be updated with the new iOS. This new iOS is a critical security-only upgrade for two vulnerabilities that Apple believes attackers are already using to exploit people’s iPhones.
