Internet issues got you down? Our network felt the same way – for 90 minutes yesterday. The University’s firewall rules inadvertently prevented network traffic from flowing across the network at approximately 9.10am yesterday, impacting staff and students' access to ANU IT systems. The issue was investigated and remedied by ITS just after 10.30am. We recognise this had a significant impact across the University and we are sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Former Prime Minister the Hon Kevin Rudd’s association with ANU began in 1975 when, as a 17-year-old, he wrote this letter (pictured) to the Registrar requesting information on enrolment procedures. He graduated six years later with a Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies. He then completed his honours thesis on human rights in China under the eminent China scholar Pierre Ryckmans.
"There was something earthy and inspiring about ANU. It never sought to be a European university. Instead it became a quintessentially Australian university and, at its best, one that still encourages the brightest and the best of its graduates to consider a career in public life."
