Join Alexander Rosenberg, an international award-winning artist, for a fascinating lecture and demonstration of his interdisciplinary practice in glass. Starting in the ANU School of Art & Design Gallery, Rosenberg will deliver an artist talk about his wide-ranging practice, including his recent project A Climber’s Guide to Eastern State Penitentiary (2019), a site-specific installation, performance and guidebook. This is followed by a hot glass demonstration in the ANU Glass Workshop. Alexander Rosenberg is the recipient of the 2023 Christine and Stephen Procter Fellowship. He is an international award-winning artist who is also widely known as a finalist on the Netflix reality show Blown Away.

In this hand on experience, we embrace the strange obsession of modern culture with wellness and extend its fascination to our energy choices. Participants will create a personalised wellness themed EnergiZine, influenced by renewable energy options and Indigenous knowledge, aiming to inspire conscious energy choices for a sustainable future.

Come along this weekend for a chance to get to know the facility and its users inside out. Featured activities include tours of HIAF and the Implanter Laboratories, and scientific demonstrations on natural radioactivity, liquid nitrogen ice cream, a Van de Graff generator and vacuum systems, and more. 

Facility Group Tours will run every half an hour from 10.15 am.

Science Demonstration Circuit will run 30 minutes past hour from 10.30 am.

The Rhodes Scholarship Australia – Applications closing soon  

Each year, nine Rhodes Scholarships are available for outstanding Australians to study at the University of Oxford. Of the nine scholarships available each year in Australia, each state offers one Scholarship that is awarded by a selection committee of seven members based in the state.   

About 100 Rhodes Scholars are selected from around 60 nominated countries around the world every year, with two Global Scholars selected from any other country. There are now over 5,000 Rhodes Scholars worldwide, and alumni connections are growing.
