The rundown - information you need at a glance
|
- Internet issues got you down? Our network felt the same way – for 90 minutes yesterday.
The University’s firewall rules inadvertently prevented network traffic from flowing across the network at approximately 9.10am yesterday, impacting staff and students' access to ANU IT systems. The issue was investigated and remedied by ITS just after 10.30am. We recognise this had a significant impact across the University and we are sorry for any inconvenience caused.
- ANU will not be entering into an agreement with PARSA for Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) funding in 2023. Student services will not be disrupted. Read the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) full message here.

ANU75 photo competition winners revealed
|
This week we are featuring the work of Luke Adams, second runner-up in the Portrait category. Luke captioned the photo: “It’s great to see ANU feature unusual and more artistic building designs throughout the campus, and whenever I am walking ‘round the campus, I am always on the lookout for buildings that I haven’t seen yet. “When I was hunting for the autumn leaves I saw one of the science buildings in the midst of the reds and yellows of the leaves. I liked how its modern and geometrical design contrasted with the surrounding nature.” Congratulations again, Luke! |

A window to our past
|
Former Prime Minister the Hon Kevin Rudd’s association with ANU began in 1975 when, as a 17-year-old, he wrote this letter (pictured) to the Registrar requesting information on enrolment procedures. He graduated six years later with a Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies. He then completed his honours thesis on human rights in China under the eminent China scholar Pierre Ryckmans.
"There was something earthy and inspiring about ANU. It never sought to be a European university. Instead it became a quintessentially Australian university and, at its best, one that still encourages the brightest and the best of its graduates to consider a career in public life." Check out this story and others from our past at ANU Explorer. |
