We will be implementing new submission deadlines in 2023. 

Content submissions for On Campus can be made via the online form. Items should be relevant to the broader ANU student body. Please submit content by Monday the week before an On Campus edition. For example, if you wish to include content for the 14 February edition, please submit content by Monday 6 February.

Are you ready for 2023?

Say hello to 2023 and starting a new year at ANU! 

While we still have a few weeks of summer break left, it’s time to start thinking about coming back to uni.  

Whether you’re a first-year student or a seasoned pro, having a plan to come back to uni sets you up for a successful year.  

To help you, we’ve created a back to uni checklist.  

Events & activities

2023 Commencement Address

Monday 13 February, 10-11am, followed by morning tea 

The ANU Commencement Address is the opening event for ANU Orientation Week at the start of the academic year and is an opportunity for all new students to hear from inspiring speakers about their uni experiences and how to get the most out of your time at ANU. It's also a wonderful opportunity to meet new friends and mingle with the whole ANU community! 

The 2023 keynote will be delivered by ANU alumnus Kieran Pender, a senior lawyer at the Human Rights Law Centre and an honorary lecturer at the ANU College of Law.

Studying in Australia: What not to pack  

Tuesday 31 January, 2-3pm 

The Department of Agriculture Fisheries and Forestry is hosting an international student webinar on Australia’s biosecurity requirements and what travellers need to know when preparing to enter the country. It will cover what you can and cannot pack as well as an overview of what happens when clearing biosecurity at the border. They will also be covering mail and what your family and friends can send you.

Free public tour of the ANU Classics Museum

Friday 27 January, 11am-12pm 

Join volunteer guides on a tour of the museum’s collection of ancient Greek and Roman artefacts. The ANU Classics Museum is located in the AD Hope building.

Opportunities 

Co-Lab Honours Grant: only one week to apply! 

The ASD-ANU Co-Lab Honours Grant allows Australian ANU students to work on cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research projects with real-world impact to the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) mission. Work with leading academics from ANU and technical experts from ASD, access training opportunities and network with students, professionals and researchers interested in national intelligence and security. Applications close on 31 January.
