A BIG thank you
The inaugural ANU Phone Appeal officially ended on Saturday 13 December 2014. In one day, a dedicated group of student callers raised $7,790 in pledged gifts – 10% of the entire campaign. In addition, it is only fitting that the final call of the appeal was to the Chancellor of the University, Professor the Hon Gareth Evans AC QC. Chancellor Evans joined alumni, staff, students and friends as a founding donor to The ANU Fund.
In six weeks, the ANU Phone Appeal achieved many things and exceeded all targets. Thirty-eight student callers connected with 4,591 alumni and friends across Australia. These conversations not only resulted in 738 pledged gifts to ANU, but also provided invaluable information on issues that are important to our alumni community and how members want to stay connected with their alma mater.
The 2014 Phone Appeal raised $77,621 in pledged gifts. This was double our goal and a great testament to the generosity and support of the ANU community. These gifts will have a very real impact across the University helping us to increase scholarships, strengthen teaching facilities, fund campus activities and promote innovative research. This year, we look forward to sharing with you the stories of how gifts to The ANU Fund, regardless of size, are used to make a very real difference to the lives of ANU students and staff.
