Message from the COO: Resolution of NTEU dispute
Dear colleagues,
Earlier this week, I advised you that the NTEU had raised a dispute under the ANU Enterprise Agreement 2023-2026 in relation to the changes contemplated under three of our Implementation Plans. I also advised that to help minimise uncertainty for staff and reduce delays, ANU had referred the matter to the Fair Work Commission for resolution.
Since then, we have continued open and transparent discussions with the NTEU and I am pleased to announce the dispute has now been formally resolved. The NTEU has today withdrawn its notice of dispute, and the University has therefore withdrawn its application to the Fair Work Commission.
This means that the Implementation Plans we released earlier this week will commence from Wednesday 4 December 2024. These are:
• Academic Portfolio Implementation Plan
• Facilities and Services Division Implementation Plan
• Research and Innovation Portfolio Implementation Plan
Further communication will be sent to employees directly affected by these implementation plans over the next week.
The University welcomes this development, which gives our community more certainty and clarity about the journey ahead. We look forward to continuing to meaningfully engage with our community and the NTEU as we work to return the University to financial sustainability. All five implementation plans can be found on our Renew ANU website.
Finally, remember you can ask questions and provide feedback via org.change@anu.edu.au.
Kind regards,
Jonathan Churchill
Chief Operating Officer
