FAQs

How does it work?

Students are required to make their own arrangements for most short-term programs. ANU Global Programs can provide general advice on whether short-term programs might be appropriate, however we can only provide minimal program assistance. It is up to each student to explore what is possible and to apply to the specific university directly.

Can I receive academic credit?

To receive academic credit for a short-term program, course selections must be approved by a student's academic College.  Students should meet with an academic advisor from their college before applying to a short-term program.  Students will need to supply their college with the program outline and/or syllabus for the course(s) they plan to take, which will be assessed at the college's discretion to determine if those courses can be credited towards the students ANU program.

What programs are available?

Short-term programs are being offered by universities and program providers worldwide. ANU Global Programs has compiled this list of opportunities offered by our partner universities and providers that ANU students may be interested in, however it is not exhaustive and we will continue to update it with new opportunities.

The host university/provider is not required to have an existing agreement with ANU, however it should be a reputable university and/or provider that aligns academically with the student's ANU studies. Students are welcome to source independent short-term opportunities

How much will it cost?

Cost varies depending on the host university or provider. Students will need to pay tuition fees directly and any other fees (if applicable) to the host university or provider. Students will also be responsible for all other costs incurred relating to the short term program and any required travel.

Eligibility

Eligibility requirements for short term programs are decided by the host university or provider. Before starting an application, students should check the host university's entry requirements relating to GPA, level of study, languages, citizenship and available study areas. The host university may have other requirements that students must research and adhere to.
