Partnering for Food Relief
Across Australia the rising cost of living has increased financial pressures impacting food security, and access to health care, especially for international students. Students are skipping meals or choosing less nutritious options to make ends meet.
This October, Student Life, Community Connect Food Relief service has partnered with Foodbank NSW & ACT to host a Free Student Market Stall. These markets have been provided generously by Allianz Partners and will mean a range of fresh produce and key pantry staples will be available to students at no cost.
A healthy, nutritious meal is essential to fuel you for your studies and overall wellbeing. Sadly, the cost-of-living crisis is affecting many individuals in Australia, with 36% of households struggling with food insecurity in the past year. Foodbank and Allianz Partners want to support students and provide some relief.
To better understand how the cost of living is impacting international students, Allianz Partners and Foodbank are conducting a survey exploring food insecurity, access to health care, financial stress and social challenges. The results will help uncover how best to support international students across Australia.
Please take a few minutes to complete this survey on the day. It will be available via QR code.
